Lily Wolf Words is a trademark freelance writing company I run from my home. It's named in loving memory of my grandparents, Lillian and Wilf Batty. They were the one constant in my life when I was growing up. Sadly, they didn't live long enough to see me achieve my dream of becoming writer. But, I know they're watching me from wherever they are.

With their name fronting my company, they will always be a part of my work,  contining to inspire even on my most frustrating day. They, as well as my beautiful children (My girls: Jaimie, nine; Jordhan, seven; baby Sophie, three; and my beautiful baby boy Xander, five) keep me grounded, focused on the positives and always striving to be the best I can be.

What began as a way to share my words with the world, as well as to supplement our household income, has turned into my small way to help special needs children and families. Watching Jaimie and Xander's struggles with Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD) and Spectrum disorders, as well as the lack of knowledge and/or understanding on the subject, has inspired me to focus a great deal of my writing time on helping to bring about awareness on SPD. I also write about sujbects other people may not want to discuss but, I feel, need to be, such as mental health issues (see my blog White Elephants for more information.)

A portion of earnings through Lily Wolf Words is donated both to the SPD Foundation to assist Dr. Lucy Miller with her crucial SPD research as well as to Chynna's Charity, Zebra House. Giving back to the SPD Foundation is my small way to help all children, like Jaimie and Xander, have the understanding and respect they deserve. Zebra House is a Child Protection Centre helping kids who have been abused or otherwise victimized be able to live the lives they were meant to. I work closely with this local charity as its focus is tremendously close to my heart.
