As many of you know, my mother suffered with bipolar all of her life. She never sought treatment for her disorder so we had to watch her slowly slip into a place of no return. To me, it was a tremendous waste of brilliance and talent because my mom was a poet, a musician, a pianist, an artist and so much more but all of that was clouded by her mental illness that she neither acknowledged nor treated.
Because of my mother, and so many people out there who care for--or care about--a person with bipolar disorder, I dedicate this page. We'll have information, interviews, treatment options and more. Chynna has even started a blog called "White Elephants: A Blog About Bipolar Disorder". (We are in the process of setting up our Domain so if you can't get on through this link, check back.)
I have written a memoir about living with my mother through the worst of her bipolar. It is an eye-opening book that shows the reasons why diagnosis and treatment are SO important. There is no reason why mental illness should be 'taboo' in this day and age. PLEASE...help raise awareness.
We'll be updating this page often so please keep checking back.
Thank you for your support.
Warmly,
Chynna
