Meet the captivating Steve Landes:
The reason I find Steve inspirational isn't just because he is part of a fantastic Beatle-band called RAIN (and does a dead-on impression of my favorite Beatle, John!) but his passion for lifting the human spirit through music is empowering. Although touring alot with RAIN currently, he is an extremely talented singer and musician in his own right.
Please check out his personal website at: http://www.steve-landes.com/ On there you'll get to know Steve--without his John outfit--and know the truly inspiring man he is. You can also check out his MySpace page at: www.myspace.com/stevelandes as well as his Facebook Fan Page and personal page.
I will be updating this space with interviews, upcoming music news/gigs Steve will be doing and a whole lot more.
STEVE IN HIS OWN WORDS: "Growing up, I'd always wanted to be in show business, singing and acting for friends, family -- anyone who'd listen. After years of talent contests, amateur shows, and a few garage & bar bands, I got my first chance to perform professionally at the age of 17, in the role of John Lennon for the Broadway show "Beatlemania". Starting in New York, then in Los Angeles, I continued touring with the show until its close a few years later. (During that time, I first met and worked with fellow future "Rain" members Joe Bithorn, Joey Curatolo, Ralph Castelli, and Jim Riddle).
After the show's close, I continued to work in music, recording backing vocals for a Canadian recording project, and backing up several stars in a 60's revue, such as Peter Noone (Herman's Hermits), Tiny Tim, and Joey Molland (Badfinger).
I also decided to return to a first love -- acting. After training with Joe Behar (Mash, Cheers) in Las Vegas, I landed a few background parts in a few movies -- "Wedding Bell Blues", "For Which He Stands", and Tim Burton's "Mars Attacks!".
I then returned to New York to play the lead in a new musical comedy being showcased for an off-Broadway run. Called "The Fab Four", written and directed by Steven Siegel, the story was a kind of "Back to the Future" meets the Beatles. I played a high school Beatle fan in present-day America, who magically goes back in time to Liverpool, England 1961, before the Beatles are famous. He and his friends then go about doing everything they can to take the Beatles' place in history, and messing history up in the process. It was pretty funny, and I had a great time doing it.
Then I got the call from Rain, and have been working with them ever since. The guys in the band are the best, and it's given me a chance to tour to some new places, and meet a lot of nice people."
