Meet The FAB FOUREVER!!
Back Print Page Email Page

Thank you for checking out our page dedicated to the FAB FOUREVER lads. I am thrilled to put this page together for these guys because they deserve it so much.

I'd heard of these guys but never had the chance to see them perform. When a friend of mine who knows how much I adore the Beatles let me know they were coming to Edmonton, I checked out their Website to get a feel for them as individuals and as a group. As I checked out their bios, their audios and their crazy but beautiful pictures with their fans, I got such a strong 'vibe' about them I wanted to see if they'd be interested in guesting on 'The Gift'. I heard back from them the same day and...well...the rest is history.

What I love the most about these guys is their passion for what they do, their generosity with their fans, the energy they put into every moment of their shows and their 'realness'.

FAB FOUREVER are inspirational as a band because they are helping to keep the Beatles' music alive. They bring back precious memories to those who were there during that time and they help to create new ones for those of us born just a little too late to experience it the first round. They are inspirational as individuals because they love their families, they care about the earth and all living things living in it, and they truly care about others.

So...congratulations to the FAB FOUREVER for having a permanent 'home' here on Lily Wolf Words (as well as over at 'The Gift' blog. We hope to keep this updated with concert performances as well as their individual gigs. Thanks for letting us put this together for you guys. Peace and Love.

Meet JODY TENNANT who plays Sir Paul McCartney.

The first thing you notice about Jody is his genuine warmness (and his sweet smile that he's passed along to his little beauties). He's so gentle and kind but has that wicked sense of humor and strong wit that Sir Paul has. He's so appreciative and humble for what he does in his 'Fab job' and sees it more as a gift that he can share with others rather than a job he has to do.

Jody is an amazing Sir Paul. Did you know that he taught himself to play left-hand guitar? I thought that was amazing. Here's a little snippet of what Jody shared about himself with us over at 'The Gift':

"I was born here in the Lower Mainland of BC, Chilliwack to be precise I was the oldest of four children. I had a great childhood. My parents were quite young and were hippies (or so it seemed to me). So I had long hair as a wee one, and was mistaken for a girl quite a bit. We moved alot. I don't think that we were in a house for much more than a year, so we were constantly having to make new friends. I was never a musician growing up. I was into sports. All sports. I played Baseball, Soccer and Hockey. But mainly hockey. I got up to Senior AAA hockey so that was it for me. Ah school. I mainly liked having friends at school. I was in French Immersion so I learned a bit of French, which helps when you have to sing 'Michelle'. You know I liked school a bit. But was never really good at it. I didn't like sitting at a desk for that long. My teachers always seemed to like me as well, they just thought I could've made more of an effort. I also seemed to get into trouble a lot at school. I don't remember why, but our vice-principal had my parents’ number on speed dial, and I'd usually visit him once a week."

Jody is THE sweetest guy. He's also a devoted family man to his three gorgeous bubs and his beautiful wife, who he spends every spare moment with when he isn't 'Paul'. He is also a strong environmental and animal advocate. These are the main reasons that Jody is, to me, SUCH an inspiration. We're hoping to have him come back to 'The Gift' to talk more about his 'real' job as a massage therapist. Please click on the link above to be taken to my interview with Jody and also be sure to go to the FAB FOUREVER website and click on his bio.

Here's Kevin Davey who plays John Lennon.

The first thing you notice about Kevin is his strong resemblance to the amazing man he portrays on stage. He and John not only share many of the some of the same physical features but also, particularly, the same bitingly sharp wit. He had me in stitches...so much so I often couldn't come up with comebacks to his awesome liners!

His presence on stage is so powerful and if you closed your eyes you'd swear you were right there with the real John. It isn't just that he nails the mannerisms, the jokes or the sense of humor but also the passion for the music. Here's a little clip about Kevin FROM Kevin in our initial interview:

"I was born in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. My dad was a musician and I used to watch his band play and rehearse and always wanted to be a musician. I got my first guitar at age 5 but it was more or less a toy. For years my favorites musician was (don’t print this) Barry Manilow. I loved his stuff. It wasn’t until December 8th, 1980, when I woke up at the age of 9 (almost 10) hearing on the radio that John Lennon was shot and killed. I wasn’t sure who John Lennon was except that he was from the ‘black and white days’. My father loved Buddy Holly and The Beatles, so I had heard of them many times but never quite knew who they were. After the announcement the station played “Starting Over”. I loved the song and instantly wanted to know everything about the man who wrote it. I got heavily into the Beatles and at age 15 began playing guitar and writing my own Beatlesque type songs. The Beatles were a huge influence on my as a musician and a writer, especially the music of John Lennon."

Aside from the amazing work he does with the FABs, Kevin shows is other talents in his awesome band, Launching Sweety! If you get a chance to see/hear this group, grab it. They ROCK!

Kevin is passionate about the environment, people and the animals that share the world with us. He's a devoted hubby and dad and loves his 'real' job as a musical therapist (We also hope to have him visit 'The Gift' again to talk about that). For these reasons, and so many others, Kevin is inspirational to us. Please click on the link above to be taken to our full interview with Kevin on 'The Gift' and also check out his bio on the FAB FOUREVER website.

This is Jean-Luc Perron who plays the mysterious and intriguing George Harrison.

Okay, interviewing Jean-Luc was interesting because we had to get past his love of yogurt to find out a little more about him (LOL!). But what he did share was so incredible. Here's a little snippet:

"I started [playing] when I was very young in northern Quebec in a small town called Port Cartier. Acoustic guitar was all the rage then so once I got bitten badly, I went and got as many jobs as I could and bought the worst acoustic guitar you can imagine for too expensive a price, but the school pastor, a cool guy, was giving free night time guitar lessons. I jumped at the chance, took all my change and folded one and two dollar bills from my paper run and went for the El Kaboing guitar. With glee I strummed my first G chord, and it was just a matter of time ‘til I was...discovered…by an older grade ten dude who convinced me to buy what was then the worst ELECTRIC guitar, fuzz box and amplifier. We started a little group, my friend left to go to college, and I went on to create my very first pop group with the other bassist. We found a drummer who was the son of a policeman, and we called it: Equinox."

Jean-Luc is absolutely hilarious. When you see him on stage as George he plays it to a 't': not saying as much as 'Paul' or 'John', absorbing himself completely in his guitar playing, etc. But watching him off the stage is a joy because he's so energetic and that energy is contagious, believe me. (He gets everyone going backstage...I'm sure everyone would like to blame it all on Kevin but I think you have to watch out for the quiet ones too...LOL!).

What inspires us about Jean-Luc is his passion for his music, his sense of humor, his obvious admiration for the rest of the band and how dedicated he is to his craft. As most of you out there know, George was my mom's favorite Beatle so it was awesome for me to get to know someone who channels George so well and also allowed me to see the 'professional' side of this phenomenal musician. This is the amazing Paul Kaszonyi who plays my favorite Beatle, RINGO!!

Now, I have to admit...I have a little soft spot for Paul. It isn't just because he does SUCH an amazing job with portraying Ringo (and BELIEVE me, I'm fussy about the Ringo's in Tribute bands!); it's more because he's such a down-to-earth and all-around nice guy. He's a little quiet at first (at least he was when I chatted with him) but once you get him talking about music and the other things he's passionate about you get to see that sparkle in his eyes and that adorable smile of his.

Paul is a mult-talented musician who not only taught himself how to play drums in the FABs but he's a fabulous guitarist as well and has been playing for most of his life. He plays in a couple of bands outside being Ringo, including sharing the spotlight with Kevin Launching Sweety as well as in his more blues/rock band The Immaculate Mules (check them out on Facebook as well as MySpace. Tell him Chynna sent you. LOL!) He and Kevin even got to play in the Cavern Club in Liverpool!

Here's a little snippet from my chat with Paul:

"My Dad plays drums as well so growing up there was almost always a drum kit set up at home. I would play around with the drums for fun but I never took them seriously until I joined the Fab Fourever. I found the transition rather difficult because I was so far out of my comfort zone. I’ve been playing guitar since I was 9 and have always put a lot of energy into that, but I secretly always wanted a chance/excuse to really get into drumming and this band [Fab Fourever] allowed me that."

There are so many reasons to list why Paul is inspirational but his passion for his craft, his dedication to fine-tuning his talent, his loyalty to his friends and family and just the sweeter side of him I got to see are the main reasons we'll add for now. Check out his other bands and learn more about him by clicking on his name above to be taken to our interview or go to the FAB FOUREVER Website and click on his bio. (Thanks, Paul!!)

Last, but DEFINITELY not least, this is the incredible Blake MacKay.

Sadly, aside from our interview, I didn't get a chance to chat with Blake as much as I got to with the other guys. I'm hoping I'll get to more the next time so I can add more to his page.

The little I did chat with him, though, I found him to be as sweet as the other guys but on a much quieter (and calmer LOL!) level. That might only be that the other guys are much more...talkative...than he is but when he does say something it's usually hilarious or insightful.

Blake is an OOBER talented guy who plays keyboard and percussion on the stage. He may be 'in the background' but he certainly plays an extremely important role in the performances. Any of the instrumental or other sounds we hear that aren't from the guitars of the lads or from Paul's drumbeats are thanks to Blake. We wouldn't have 'A Day in the Life' or 'Yellow Submarine' or 'I Am the Walrus' or many of the other fabulous Beatles' hits up there sounding quite the same without him. (And I was SO HAPPY to have gotten a few shots of him doing his thing up there!)

Here's a little bit from my interview with Blake:

"I was born in the UK, grew up in Toronto and Singapore and just moved here from Calgary. I've been playing keyboards for 26 years and have a little studio at home where I'm lucky enough now to be able to make whatever kind of music I feel like and can imagine. The Fab Fourever uses all of that plus my evil bus driving skills so I love it."

Blake is inspirational to me because, as a fellow pianist, I truly admire those who can use their talents to the max as he does. As with the other lads, he's passionate about the world and how we can make it better and more productive without hurting the living things in it. And I love that he's this tall, silent guy with a HUGE presence in this band (with a little streak of mischief mixed in!) Hopefully, I'll get the chance to dig deeper with Blake so we can add more here for his fans. =D
